Crazy Rock Formations
4/27/2021: Many hoodoos, rock formations, pine and juniper trees, and sagebrush. Greener than our hikes at Bryce Canyon. Explore all the signed points of interest – worth it. Be sure to go to Panorama Point. Explore the Secret Passage for beautiful stovepipe rock formations.
Marg’s Notes: Cozy sleep in our cabin! A bit of wet snow ~3:30. No snow on ground here. Smelled nice! Juniper & sage 😊. Went to Kodachrome State Park today. $10 entrance fee. Hiked the Panorama Loop 7 miles. Beautiful, changing scenery! We took all the offshoots & saw additional features like a neat cave called Cool Cave! It was fairly cold when we started & windy. Then, we drove down a dirt road to The Chimney Rock and Shakespeare Arch. We walked in ½ a mile to the arch, but couldn’t see it. Later found out it fell 2 years ago ☹. Had a little lunch on the tailgate. We could see a storm heading to us & heard thunder. Back to KOA & a quick rest & shower. We had dinner at “The Pizza Place” in Tropic. Fun! I washed out some socks & undies at KOA! Cold & windy, so went to sleep!
